Tokyo - sounds like a must for you to go
ChefE wow the culinary places you've gone to make me want to grab onto your coat tail and just follow you around

Phylllis - wow, Peruvian-Chinese dim sum - that sounds like a must try, can't wait to hear what you think

Kitchen M - I just ate there again the other night and have converted a few more people. I was chatting with a cabinet member of a former Peruvaian president and he told me he thought this was the go to Pervuan place in SF.So if it gets that kind of recommendation, its good enough for me.

I just realized that I sampled food from La Mar at the SF Chefs. Food. Wine. I remember vividly that it was my favorite! I just didn't connect the name of the restaurant and this post until just now.

Gorgeous vibrant photos of Peru! Interesting about the 4% Chinese population. There's a Peruvian-Chinese dim sum restaurant in NYC (Red Egg) that I'm hoping to try soon (since I can't make it to Peru, at least not yet!)

Carolyn - thanks, I had a lot of fun digging into the Peruvian cuisine and the history, its an impressive place

Kirk - your right up on your dining experiences were fantastic. You should definitely check out La Mar when you make it up to SF.

Em - Definitely try it, you'll really enjoy the food, I'm sure.

5Star - definitely thought of you when we were eating.

TN - Its not "if" only when the two of you visit, and we shall definitely go, I'm adding it to my growing list of places to take you to.

Adrienne - I think you would really enjoy it, the dessert options all looked very intriguing. I let DS do the hard work of selecting the finishing course and she did it in style. I have not checked out FISH yet, do not spend nearly enough time in Marin - ah another reason to cross the GG Bridge =)

Leela - the food was all incredibly fresh and delicious, I imagine there is some good Peruvian restaurants in Chicago, otherwise on your next trip to SF...

La Mar's interpretations of traditional Peruvian dishes sound delicious! It will be at the top of the list of 'must-visit' when/if we finally make it out to SF.

I know so little about Peruvian cuisine it's embarrassing. So thank you for an educational post.

The food looks so fresh and delicious. It makes me miss San Francisco.
